Our groups provide strategies to cope with problems as well as offering support to adults, children and families.
Groups for Parenting
Triple P (Ages 0-12)
This Positive Parenting Program is evidence based proven effective in providing parents with tools to help children under 12 years of age with behavioural and emotional problems. You’ll learn about effective parenting strategies, how to promote your child’s development, self-esteem and manage common child behaviour problems using principles to help you deal with almost any situation that might arise. The group is structured for 6/7 group sessions, including a workbook and weekly homework tasks and 1 or 2 telephone follow up sessions.

Triple P Teen

Fearless Triple P
This 6-8 week positive parenting group is for parents of children 6-14 who are experiencing anxiety. Fearless Triple P supports parents and helps them to learn new cognitive behavioural strategies for anxiety management, encouraging them to apply these themselves for all their children.

Family Transitions Triple P
This Positive Parenting Program is for separated or divorced parents to learn how to manage as single parents and co-parents. This 7 week course will address self-care and is designed to help members recover from the anger and resentment that often accompanies a relationship breakdown.

Groups for Adults
Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Skills Development
An 8-week group for adults that focuses on skill development and experiential learning in the areas of recognizing, understanding, labeling, expressing, and regulating emotions.
Participants will learn skills such as identifying feelings, understand the what, why and how of emotions, gaining vocabulary to name feelings, expressing emotions in appropriate ways, regulating emotions in practical strategies and self-care practices that increase self-compassion.

Groups for Women
Farsi Women’s Support Group
This 6 week program focuses on self-confidence, assertiveness, communication skills, parenting, healthy relationships, immigration and settlement issues, self-care, health & wellness and community Resources. This group will be delivered in Farsi.

Groups for Youth
Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Skills Development (Ages 13-17)
This is an 8-week program for youth that focuses on skill development and experiential learning in the areas of emotion regulation and interpersonal relationships. This is an integrated and evidence informed program where children will learn and practice skills such as identifying feelings, regulating emotions, positive coping strategies, communication, assertiveness, self-compassion, understanding boundaries and increasing self-esteem.

2SLGBTQ+ Groups
Transgender Support Group (Adults 18+)
An ongoing virtual group for anyone experiencing or questioning changes on the gender spectrum. Discussions include but are not limited to a variety of issues such as coming out, health and hormones, dealing with discrimination, and negotiating relationships. This group provides a safe environment to talk about issues and topics that matter while learning more about community supports and activities.

Free To Be
This virtual group for parents/caregivers of gender diverse children, regardless of age, meets once a month. Free to Be offers an opportunity to meet for support and education. The goal of this program is to destigmatize gender diversity.

Gender Galaxies (Ages 12-17)
A free 8 week virtual group for youth 12 to 17 exploring their gender identity and gender expression. Learn about and discuss topics such as: self-care, self-advocacy, media, dysphoria, body image, coming out, gender affirming care and intersectionality.

South Asian Outreach Groups
South Asian Women’s Groups
Ongoing virtual programs for South Asian Women in a variety of languages such as Tamil, Farsi, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Gujarati. Topics include parenting, health & nutrition, family stress, immigration and legal information, health, exercise, Yoga, employment, and various other topics. Free.
